Tennessee Department of Tourist Development Susan Whitaker, Senator Ken Yager, Representative Jim Cobb and other officials will meet and discuss local tourism efforts in Rhea County on Wednesday, August 19, 2009. Following is the schedule:

Commissioner Whitaker, Director of Communication Cindy Dupree, and Legislative Liaison Suanne Bone - leave Nashville 7:00 AM CDT
Arrive at Dayton Airport: 8:45 AM EDT
Travel to City Hall at Spring City
9:15-10:00 Meet with Mayor Garrison, Senator Ken Yager and Representative Jim Cobb (light continental breakfast available) and meet with the Spring City Tourism Commission & invited guests
10:00-11:15 Vehicle Tour: Museum & Annex; Library, TVT; Parks (Veteran’s, Nature Center; Holloway); Shut-in Gap Park/Cumberland Trail; other potential tourism development sites
11:30: Grand Opening @ General Shale
12:15: Lunch at General Shale
1:00: Depart General Shale/travel to Rhea Harbor to board pontoon boat
1:15-2:45: Pontoon Boat Tour of Watts Bar Lake (Only 9 spaces available including pontoon captain – all spaces now filled by State and SC officials)
3:00: Depart Spring City
3:30: Leave Dayton airport
Arrive in Nashville 3:15 CST
