NASHVILLE, Tenn. — State Senator Ken Yager (R-Kingston) announced today that the city of Wartburg in Morgan County will receive a $50,000 grant from Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT).
The Community Transportation Planning Grant will fund a biking and pedestrian plan that will determine needs and objectives, coordinate with interested agencies, engage public involvement, and develop design concepts for a transportation system in Wartburg that includes SR 62, SR 29/US 27 and a proposed bikeway on the Cumberland Trail.
“This is great news for Morgan County,” said Senator Yager. “I am very pleased these funds will be available to them to make Wartburg a healthier and greener community and that TDOT recognized the merit and value this program can have on this city.”
The Community Transportation Planning Grant (CTPG) program provides resources that assist Tennessee communities in developing transportation plans for preparation of future transportation system, land use and growth management issues.
