NASHVILLE – Senate Republican Caucus Chairman Ken Yager (R-Kingston) today said he is delighted that Tennessee’s First Lady, Maria Lee, is coming to Deer Lodge, Tennessee to participate in Food Line Friday at the Morgan Scott Project. Yager said the trip is further evidence of the focus Governor Lee and his wife have placed on elevating the quality of life in the state’s rural communities since taking office in January.
“I want to send out a big welcome to Maria Lee to our district and thank her and the Governor for their focus on enhancing the quality of life and opportunities for rural Tennesseans,” said Sen. Yager. “Maria continues to remind Tennesseans of the importance of volunteerism through her Tennessee Serves Project. We are so honored that she chose the Morgan Scott project which has been a Godsend for many local citizens in need, young and old alike. This organization and their volunteers have shown compassion and unselfish caring for many local citizens in need. I appreciate Maria coming to highlight the work being done here and to encourage other Tennesseans to join in this effort.”
