(KINGSTON, Tenn.), October 21, 2019 – The 26th annual Chili Supper and Silent Auction sponsored by Senator Ken Yager (R-Kingston) is set for November 22 at Roane State Community College in the Student Lounge from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. EST.

Governor Bill Lee is expected to attend the event joining a host of celebrity servers.  Country music star Jimmy Fortune, who sang with the legendary Statler Brothers for 21 years before becoming a solo artist, will also perform for the second year in a row by popular demand.

“This is a very family and community-oriented event,” said Senator Yager.  “It began during my service as Roane County Executive and widened to a multi-county event upon election to the 12th senatorial district.  It has always been an evening of good food, laughter and fun.  We also have been blessed to have Tennessee’s top leaders drop by and this year will be no exception. Those attending will find numerous celebrity servers from local and state government.”

Tickets for the Chili Supper are $5 at the door and preschoolers are free. Proceeds are donated to a local non-profit.  This year the non-profit is the local United Way.

Yager added, “I appreciate the many folks who have come to the Chili Supper over the years and hope we have many new friends join us on November 22.  It has truly become a community event because we stick to one rule:  good chili and no speeches.”

Senator Yager represents Roane, Fentress, Rhea, Campbell, Morgan, Scott and Pickett Counties.in District 12 in the Tennessee Senate.
