(NASHVILLE) – State Senator Ken Yager (R-Kingston) announced today he is pleased Roane County will receive a $75,000 Tourism Enhancement Grant from the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development. The grant will be used for the Caney Creek Bridge Project.
The Tourism Enhancement Grants are funded through the Rural Economic Opportunity Act, co-sponsored by Yager, which is designed to improve the economic indicators in rural communities across Tennessee.
“I am very pleased this grant is going to Roane County to assist with the Caney Creek Bridge Project,” said Yager. “Once this bridge, which was built in 1940, is replaced it will bring economic value as well as increased safety to the community. I was happy to co-sponsor the legislation that made this grant available, and I congratulate local officials in Roane County for their successful grant application.”
